The territorial commitment charter is an original corporate social responsibility (RSE, by its abbreviation in French) procedure, initiated by the Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration community. Nikolsen has been a signatory since its first edition.

On June 22nd 2018, after the Cergy-Pontoise economic meeting, Nikolsen has confirmed its implication in the economic development of the agglomeration by being part of the very first signatories of the territorial commitment charter.

This meeting has gathered 49 enterprises, amongst which there were the principal actors implanted in the territory of the prefecture of Val d’Oise, such as 3M, Clarins, Renault, Safran, Valeo… These local companies will also be accompanied by the Cergy-Pontoise agglomeration community to ease and valorise their commitment to the territory.

This accompaniment relies on a territorial commitment charter that aims at identifying and valorising the actions that already exist within companies, and also, identifying the brands of interest and the “inclinations”. This procedure allows as well to get to know the values of the signatories in terms of finding other committed company directors.

The program is articulated in meetings, visits, or experiences exchange such as:

  • A meeting with about fifteen local associations to favour a partnership project (sponsorship or patronage of competences, material support…) within different domains: insertion, entrepreneurship spirit, environment, sport, culture, etc.
  • A morning dedicated to energetic efficiency, including a visit to an exemplary place in the territory (certified as LEED).
  • A guided visit by bus and by boat around the “ambassador” enterprises in Cergy-Pontoise.
  • An ESS’PRESSO (social breakfast) event to get in touch with the ESAT (establishments and services for work aid), the SIAE (structures of insertion by economic activity), and other territory susceptible ESS (social and solidary economy) actors.
  • A preview visit of “La Turbine”, a place dedicated to the entrepreneurship spirit (incubator-business hotel that will open its doors in Cergy in the 2019 spring).

This event was also a chance to present the major transformations expected in Cergy-Pontoise in the coming years. Starting by the renewal of the Cergy-Préfecture station, which will be better connected to its direct environment. The emblematic 3 Fontaines shopping mall will also get a makeover within two years, with the creation of a food court gathering all catering formats. The 3M tower, head office of the American group in France, will be demolished to build new buildings. 3M confirms as well its historical implantation in Cergy-Pontoise.
